What's wrong with Secretary Kim

This is a typical romantic K-drama where there is one hero, one heroine, some childhood connection which was lost in the course of time and then finally re-union. Even though the story is typical, the drama is quite entertaining. It manages to keep viewers glued to the screen the entire time.

Lee Young-joon is a narcissist and is successful and accomplished Vice Chairman of a major corporation and Kim Mi-so is a very efficient secretary to Lee Young-joon. One fine day she declared that she wants to resign from her job. She was too busy with her job which did not leave her any time for pursuing her own interests or for dating. She wanted to explore herself and wanted to date and get married.

Initially, Young-joon fails to understand the reasons behind her resignation and impact of her leaving his life but decides to follow advice given by his best friend Park Yoo-sik. He decided to leave no stone unturned to stop secretary Kim from quitting.

During this process, Young-joon realizes his feelings for Mi-So. Mi-So also gets curious as to why she was hired in the first place. As they get closer, they realize that they are connected to each other by childhood trauma and childhood promises. Young-joon's brother Lee Sung-yeon spices up the story by adding the jealousy factor and potential love triangle. He also makes childhood trauma story a bit complicated. Park Yoo-Sik is Young-joon's best friend and relationship advisor. He also adds light moments and comedy to the drama.

Both actors Park Seo-joon (i.e. Lee Young-joon) and Park Min-young (i.e. Kim Mi-so) are accomplished actors and share very good chemistry. As mentioned earlier, despite of the average storyline, this drama is good to watch especially when you are craving for light entertainment after a tiring day!

  1. Loved this ! I agree that overall though the plot was a cliche romcom with all the typical tropes, the actors bought the characters to life beautifully ,which made it the perfect comfort watch.
