The Potato Lab

This is a typical Romcom where there is super efficient and emotionless boss and there is warm hearted, kind, bubbly heroine. There is love triangle. If the story is so predictable then why one should watch it??

The setting of this show is in a quiet picturesque environment away from busy Seoul. Sunniyo Foods is acquired by a big corporation called Wonhan Retail. So Baek-ho is an executive from Strategic Planning Department who is given the task of reducing head count in case of mergers/ acquisitions. He is efficient and ruthless while executing his tasks. He completely disregards the emotional aspects in the process. He has been sent to Potato lab of Sunniyo Foods for reducing the Head count.

Kim Mi-kyung is a researcher in the Potato lab. She is quite social and popular among colleagues and farmers alike. She is works very hard but does not have any notable work to her credit in research field. She lives with a friend her brother who runs a cafe and a guest house. Kim Mi-kyung was earlier working with Wonhan Retail in Seoul but she was tormented and left Wonhan Retail with painful memories and now settled in small village working for a Potato lab. She has ambition to find new variety of potatoes and name that variety with her name.

We can now easily guess rest of the theme. So Baek-ho identifies Kim Mi-kyung for dismissal. However, the circumstances force them to work together and finally he falls for her. He starts doubting his own judgement. Their chemistry thrives but circumstances estrange them.

There are lot of supporting characters who add more depth to the story. They also bring lighter moments. You will find answers to questions like what was their past? Why Kim Mi-kyung had to leave Wonhan Retail?? Who was responsible for her agony?? Is there a love triangle? Is Mi-kyung released from her job?? Is she able to fulfil her ambition?? What's happens to her love story? If you are interested in seeing beautiful presentation of a perfectly ordinary plot then tune in this drama.
