Love Next Door


This is one of the very popular Romcoms. The story focuses on 4 young people - Baek Seok-ryu, Choi Seung-hyo, Jeong Mo-eum and Kang Dan-ho. Seok-ryu,  Seung-hyo and Mo-eum are childhood friends who stay in the same neighborhood and attended same school. 

Their mothers are friends since 40 years. They are always bragging about achievements of their kids. Seok-ryu is well educated and works in a world famous company Greip. Seung-hyo is an architect and had earned many prestigious awards for his work. Mo-eum is a paramedic and has dreams to go to South Pole.  Dan-ho is a reporter and has recently shifted in their neighbouhood.

The story starts when Seok-ryu returns to Korea from USA leaving her job from Greip and breaks her engagement. She does not tell true reasons behind these actions. Her parents are unable to understand the mystery. On her return she meets Seung-hyo. During the series their relationship navigates through childhood friendship, their past relationships, their reunion, and finally love. 

Kang-ho stays with daughter Yeon-du. Mo-eum false in love with this duo. But Kang-ho knows the reality of life and mother's expectations when it comes to marriage. So initially he refuses to acknowledge Mo-eum's feelings but eventually his refusal turns into acceptance.  

Apart from romance and friendship,  the show also focuses on finding true dreams and  realizing the dreams. Seok-ryu realizes that her true love is cooking and takes Korean cooking classes. She opens her own restaurant.  Mo-eum goes as a Chief Security Officer to South Pole for 1 year. Seung-hyo is appointed as a City Architect. Overall happy ending for all on personal front as well as professional front.

Goodie goodie drama to be called as real. But this is definitely a "feel good" drama. No anxiety, no suspense as to what would happen next. The story flows in predictable direction with more ups and less downs. OK for one time watch!!
