The King: Eternal Monarch

One magical flute, one king, one police officer, one villalin, two parallel world's, people with same faces in parallel worlds, time travel and a place where time freezes! Culmination of all this is "The King: Eternal Monarch"

Manpasikjeok is a magical flute. This magical flute allows the user to travel between parallel world's and also allows the time travel. If there is such a powerful object, everyone would desire to possess it. So Lee Lim who was step brother of the King killed the King to acquired the Manpasikjeok.  His 8 year old  nephew Lee Gon tried to stop Lee Lim. But Lee Lim tried to kill him too. But some mysterious masked man saved Lee Gon. In the process, the Manpasikjeok flute broke into 2 parts. One part remained with Lee Lim and the other part remained with Lee Gon.

Lee Gon grows up to become the King of Kingdom of Corea. The memory of treason remains with him all these years. But he also retains one special souvenir left behind by his saviour - an I-card with name Lieutenant Jeong Tae-eul which was issued in 2019 (which was ahead of his time at the time of treason). Young Lee Gon is curious about the identity of his savior and tries to find her in the Kingdom of Corea but in vain. 

One fine day he takes a ride on his handsome  white horse Maximus in the bamboo forest and finds himself in another world in Republic of Korea and the first person he encounters in new world is Lieutenant Jeong Tae-eul. Not only her but he sees many familiar faces from his world but they don't recognize him.

Slowly reality starts dawning on him. He realizes that Lee Lim is still alive and the chaos created by him by traveling in time as well as parallel worlds.

The drama is thrilling and captivating. But at the same time, it is confusing in few places. It takes some time for the viewer  to understand in which world the things are happening currently. The drama is silent on place where the time stops. Why suddenly things start moving? Who is God child? etc. Overall the drama has received mixed reviews across the world. Though this drama was not banned in Korea, it received lukewarm response due to incorrect placement of Japanese flag. Despite of these shortcomings, no harm in watching it once.
