Inheritors (The Hiers)
Korean big conglomerates, their extra marital affairs, marraiges of convenience, their messed up families having legitimate and illegitimate sons, competition rather I should say fight for inheritance, posh school where kids of conglomerates are learning, poor girl getting admitted into the school, bullying of poor girl, Uber rich kid falling in love with a poor girl, non-acceptance of this alliance by parents, young couple fighting for their love and finally they happily lived everafter.
This is the story of the K-drama "Inheritors" in Nutshell. This similar story is depicted earlier in various K-dramas like "Boys over flowers", Meteor Garden (China), Meteor Garden (Taiwan), Hana Yori Dango (Japan), F4 Thailand as well. However, the only difference was that the story had a group of 4 rich children from the elite families whereas this story is cenered around only one.
If you ask my honest opinion, the artists are good but the plot is ordinary and there are absolutely no surprises whatsoever. It takes few episodes to really understand the who's who and the dynamics of the story. But the story and all the characters move in predictable direction. No novelty at all.
Currently, the internet is buzzing with a news about Season 2 for the "The Hiers" after 12 years from the release of first season. Not sure what novelty Season 2 has to offer. But I would not recommend Season 1 unless you are big fan of Lee Min-ho or Park Shin-hye.
