The Doctors
There are quite a few K-dramas which have medical background. The Doctors is more of a romantic story rather than medical drama. Yoo Hye-jung is a gangster kind of girl who doesn't give a hoot to what other people think. One day her father drops her at her grandmother's house and practically abandons her. There she meets a doctor turned teacher Hong Ji-hong and her life takes another turn.
Hye-jung's attitude starts slowly changing. But her school friend Jin Seo-woo posts untrue stories about Hye-jung and Ji-hong online resulting in Ji-hong's resignation. Hye-jung's reconciliation efforts with Seo-woo prove ro be futile and lands her in jail. Hye-jung's grandmother dies during stomach cancer surgery. Hye-jung transfers to another school.
Now there is a time leap of 5 years in the story. Now Hye-jung has become a Neurosurgeon and joins estimed Gukil Medical Centre. Seo-woo is also a Neurosurgeon and working in Gukil Medical Center where her grandfather is one of the co-founders and her father is a Vice President. Ji-hong returns from US to join Gukil where his father is the Chairman.
Now there is romance, there is love triangle, there is Politics in the hospital, there is reconciliation with past, there is vengeance, and yes, this being a medical drama there are lot of Neuro surgeries. Rest of the story is somewhat predictable. The "how" factors makes it somewhat interesting. Overall average drama to watch!
