Can This Love Be translated is a warm drama which depicts emotions are universal and are beyond language barriers. One can feel and understand these emotions evenif he doesn't understand actual words spoken.
This is a romantic drama and has a great cinematography. It covers exotic locations in South Korea, Canada, Italy and Japan and is a feast to eyes.
Cha Moo-hee met Joo Ho-jin for the first time in Japan when she was a struggling actress. Joo Ho-jin is an interpreter and knows many foreign languages. Though he is very proficient in languages, he is little dense when it comes to language of love.
After their first meeting in Japan, they met after few years. By that time Cha Moo-hee had become famous across the globe due to her role as Do Ra Mi in a zombie movie. Due to this, she was offered romantic reality dating show with Japanese romance king Hiro Kurusawa. Joo Ho-jin joins the show as an interpreter.
And the journey began on reality show as well as in real life. This journey uncovers many things from hidden feelings to dissociative identity disorder to impaired relationships to childhood trauma. What began as translating dialogues between lead characters of the show finally ended into translating feelings and understanding language of love which is unique to each individual. At the end of the drama, most of the problems get satisfactory end.
Highly engaging drama with good chemistry among cast. The characters are well developed. Though somewhat predictable, overall drama leaves a good impression behind.
