The Art of Sarah
The poster of The Art of Sarah was quite mysterious and it made me very curious. Normally romance is the heart of most of the Korean dramas. This mysterious and serious poster awakened my curiosity and here I am with the review.
The Art of Sarah is a character-driven K-drama that focuses on ambition, creativity, and the emotional cost of success. The story follows Sarah Kim, a talented but complex protagonist navigating the competitive world of art while dealing with personal struggles and complicated relationships. The series attempts to blend romance, professional rivalry, and introspective themes into a layered narrative.
This is also a murder mystery. The drama opens with the celebrations for well renowned luxury brand "Boudoir". In the next scene a girl discovers a dead body in the gutter with a costly Birkin bag. It was a dead body of a woman with a curious tattoo inked just above the ankle. The police officer Park Mu-gyeong reached the crime scene and the chase starts.
The dead body is identified as belonging to Sarah Kim, Regional Head of Boudoir. But is it really Sarah Kim?? One fine day Sarah Kim turns up in a police station. Then who was the dead girl?? As the story progresses, Park Mu-gyeong comes across various personalities and names assumed by Sarah Kim. Her struggles, her love life, her ambition, her success followed by her loneliness.
The drama is contemplative and slow paced. Though this is a murder mystery, it can't be regarded as thriller. However, the suspense is maintained till the end. The visual themes used in drama are good and go with the mood.
Watch this drama to find answers to questions like Who was Sarah Kim, who was murdered, who was murderer, and many more why's and what's. Different than usual!
